Mwananchi Credit, the secured loans provider, has opened a branch in Kisumu County, seeking to tap the western Kenya market.

The newest branch in Mwananchi’s stable will offer its menu of credit facilities including, among others, emergency loans, asset financing, salary advance loans, title deed loans and trade financing.

This is a major boost for Kisumu residents during these lean economic times when most Kenyans are facing financial constraints caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The availability of credit facilities will be a shot in the arm for businesses as well which have been struggling to access loans.

Mwananchi Credit Limited Kisumu branch is located at Alpha House on Oginga Odinga Street.

“While the Kisumu branch may be new, Mwananchi Credit Limited has a long history of proudly serving Kisumu County,” said Dennis Mombo, Executive CEO of Mwananchi Credit Ltd. “We are a company of the people, and we know it’s critical to have brick and mortar branches in the most convenient locations possible.”

Mwananchi Credit Kisumu branch comes hot on the heels of Thika branch, which was opened early September.  Mwananchi has been expanding steadily over the past few years.  In December 2019 to serve the coastal market and has three other branches in Nairobi, and one each in Kitengela and Eldoret.

Mr Mombo said attributed Mwananchi Credit’s steady growth to the focus-on-people-over-profits strategy. Mwananchi Credit is excited to see its impact reach even greater heights with its Kisumu Branch.

A branch in Kisumu strategically ensures that Mwananchi Credit Limited provides residents of this booming area the opportunity to benefit from low loan rates and flexible loan terms, he said.

Logbook loans

Mwananchi Credit Limited has a dedicated customer service department to advise and guide customers on their financial needs. For those in search of an affordable way to own a car, for example, it’s critical to choose the best lender. Mombo said Mwananchi Credit auto loans are competitive and flexible enough to meet a wide range of budgets.

Motorbike Loans

Those looking to own a motorbike and improve their livelihoods will have the boda boda loans deal where a borrower pays as little as  Ksh300 daily.

Kisumu residents will now have a taste of easy, fast, and instant credit. All they need to apply for a loan is to meet the relevant requirements.

Mr Mombo said Mwananchi Credit supports its surrounding community with contributions to local nonprofit organizations, charities, and scholarship programs. “We believe that when individuals have the opportunity to stand on a stronger financial footing, the whole community benefits,” Mr Mombo said.
