Multiple Power Outages in Three Counties Today – KPLC

Thousands of households and businesses across three counties will lose power this Saturday, according to Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC).

Outages will be experienced in Uasin Gishu, Nakuru and Siaya Counties at different times between mid-morning and afternoon today until 5:00 PM when power will be restored except in Nakuru County, the utility firm said

Precisely, the following areas will be affected by the scheduled maintenance in those mentioned counties:

In Uasin Gishu County;

In Uasin Gishu, the planned power interruption will take place from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Sinendet Centre, Sakam Quarry, Lower Kipkaren Centre, Upper Kipkaren, Nyengeilel Secondary School, Nyengeilel Centre, Murugusi Dispensary, Murugusi Primary, Murugusi Centre, Musembe Market, Chepsaita, Magut Center, Ngayu Centre, Psorungai, Lumakanda Centre, Lumakanda Secondary School and Lumakanda Hospital.

In Nakuru County;

In Nakuru, the planned power interruption will start at 9:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM in Gilgil Town, Kenyatta Barracks, NYS, ASTU, Ndume Limited, GTI, Langalanga, Ngomongo, Millimani and Diatomite.

In Siaya County;

In Siaya, the planned power interruption will take place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Sagam, Midhine, Lihanda, Sinaga, Rawa ACK Church, Gongo Health Centre, Olengo, Migosi Primary School and Sagam Community Hospital.

The power outages are due to electricity transmission line upgrades intended to improve resiliency and deliver up-to-par renewable power to customers in the affected areas.
