Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria over the weekend took another swipe at the Jubilee government administration over underdevelopment of infrastructure in the Mt Kenya region.
This comes after the outspoken MP criticized the president, Uhuru Kenyatta, for launching projects in regions that were perceived as the opposition stronghold, neglecting his home turf during the New Year celebration in Thika Stadium.
However, Mr Kuria offered his profuse apology to the president after his remarks were condemned by different leaders in the region before taking another swipe at the government over the same.
The legislator has maintained his stand that the Mt Kenya region, that overwhelmingly voted for Jubilee government for two terms, is lagging behind in terms of development in infrastructure.
Speaking in Nyandarua during the burial of the late Mr John Mwangi Kagema, founder of Equity Bank and chairman of Enashipai Resort, Kuria insisted that the region should think carefully and wisely ahead of 2022 general elections.
“The residents of Mt Kenya region have stood with Jubilee administration for two terms, but we are yet to recognize the fruits of that. Although the residents still support Jubilee, there are no roads, electricity and water,” said Mr Kuria.

The controversial MP has urged the government to improve the living status of residents in Mt Kenya region through the development of infrastructures.
He further turned his guns to the governor of Nyandarua County Francis Kimemia for failing to provide the residents with water despite the county being the major water provider to Nairobi County.
“The Aberdares which mostly lies in Nyandarua region provides water that is being consumed by Nairobi residents, why is it then that the custodians of Aberdares have resorted to boreholes for water?” He asked.
Mr Kuria further criticized poor planning of potatoes and tomatoes farming in Nyandarua.
“This region (Nyandarua) is one of the green baskets of the country, but the farm products, potatoes and tomatoes are being fed to the animals as there are no roads to transport the food to other parts of the country,” he added.
The MP asked the Commission on Revenue Allocation to review its resources allocation as many counties in the Mt Kenya region have been categorized as privileged areas thus, reducing the allocation of resources that leads to suffering and poverty by the residents.
“The resources allocation process should be reviewed by the necessary authority so that resources can be shared equally and our people should not suffer anymore,” he said.
