KCB Group has given Sh12 million towards the 39th Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association Annual Delegates Conference. The money will go towards the administrative, planning and general organisation costs of the National Delegates Conference to be held between June 23-27, 2014 at the Wild Waters Resort in Mombasa.

Over 7,000 National Executive Council members comprising headteachers and principals of government secondary schools in the country are expected to attend the conference, which will be presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during the cheque handover event, KCB Group Managing Director and Chief Business Officer, Samuel Makome, said the bank will continue to partner with stakeholders in the education sector, given its critical role in economic, political, technologiocal and socio-cultural development. He said the bank currently holds over 3,700 schools accounts, which represents 65 per cent of the 7,174 registered in the country.

“Our school fees collection account, Lipa Karo is growing steadily with 40 per cent of our personal loan book constituting loans extended to the teachers. With services such as check off loans, we make it much easier with tailor-made products for teachers to access credit facilities with their pay slips,” he said.

The National Delegates Conference is held annually to formulate and publicize agreed policies concerning administrative and educational challenges impacting on public schools in particular.
