Young Kenyan ICT innovators will be feted at The 2018 Connected ICT Innovation Awards which will be held at the Bomas of Kenya from October 22 to October 24.

The awards celebrate the achievements of entrepreneurs who have come up with new IT solutions. Since the summit’s inception in 2011, over 45 ICT products and services have been awarded.

“Our focus for Connected 2018 is the Big 4 Agenda. Technology has a significant role to play in the Big 4 and I look forward to seeing how we can innovate across manufacturing, healthcare, housing and food security” ICT CS Joe Mucheru said during the launch event which was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi on September 20.

This is an exciting opportunity for techies as the summit attracts corporate executives and policy makers keen on observing trends in the ICT industry they could integrate in the running of their organisations.

During the launch, Telkom Kenya’s Managing Director, Enterprise Business Kris Senanu said, “We are delighted to be part of this initiative which aligns with our vision to connect the people that make Kenya move by providing our customers with the best value for a simpler life, efficient business and stronger communities,”

The theme for this year’s Connected Summit is Building for Prosperity.

Over 1,000 delegates from across East Africa are expected to attend this year’s event which is sponsored by Telkom Kenya, Atlancis Technologies, Safaricom, Cellulant, Liquid Telkom and Intel among other companies.

Applications for the Innovators award are open to Kenyan startups and innovators through the summit’s official website www.connected.go.ke.

Interested applicants have also been encouraged to visit the ICT Authority’s social media platforms for more details.
