Cyprian Nyakundi makes Twitter comeback

Controversial blogger Cyprian Nyakundi has made a Twitter comeback about week after his account was suspended for violating rules after posting a nude photo of Radio Africa General Manager Martin Khafafa.

Nyakundi has opened a new account and is now tweeting as @AtNyakundi. His verified account, which was suspended was @C_NyakundiH with a following of 696,000 following the Twitter purge that reduced it from 1.2 million. The new account, which created last month but started tweeting on August 6, so far boasts of a mere 4,977 followers and six tweets.

However, Nyakundi aka Boychild President is still in his element with the focus of his tweets on Wednesday being on the ongoing demolition of prime buildings by the Nairobi River regeneration task force that has so far seen Java Restaurant and Shell Petrol Station in Kileleshwa and the Sh1 billion South End Mall at the Lang’ata Road/Mbagathi Road junction fall for standing on riparian land.

He is demanding that apart from more buildings on riparian land such as Ukay Centre and Westgate being demolished, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority should also commence a crackdown on those standing on road reserves.

“Kenyans are hoping that @NEMAKenya is not just targeting locals and leaving Muhindi-owned properties intact. All encroachment on riparian land must be demolished! No compromise. Wangari Maathai spoke of Ukay Center and WestGate before she died,” said Nyakundi in one of the tweets.

Some of the prime buildings he has mentioned include Taj Mall on Outering Road, the Standard Group Centre and Sameer Business Park on Mombasa Road and Kahama Hotel at the Globe Cinema Roundabout.

Observers will be keenly watching to see if Nyakundi will still venture into using four-letter words and propagating hate speech and pornography that has landed him in trouble in the past.
