Corporate Internet provider AccessKenya Group has opened an office in Kisumu to serve the Nyanza region as it continues to position itself as a market leader in IT solutions.
AccessKenya Internet Division Managing Director Kris Senanu said the company has diversified its products to address a wide range of technological needs across all sectors of economy and this gives the company a competitive edge in the IT solutions industry in Kenya.
“We have invested heavily in research and are consistently developing products that are geared towards addressing the fast-changing needs in business,’ said Mr. Kris Senanu during the opening of the Kisumu office.
He said AccessKenya Group is keen on enhancing its presence in the Western Kenya region owing to the massive opportunity that the county system of government portends.
“We have had a few clients in Kisumu for the last five years but we are now upping our effort in bringing on board new clients and developing a formidable infrastructural setup in this region,” Mr. Senanu said.
The MD noted that AccessKenya’s entry into the region has been necessitated by growing demand for broadband services in the region according to the company’s feasibility assessment done over the past couple of years.
He said: “We believe that the diversity of our products and the reliability of our network give us the competitive advantage that we require to grow the business in this region.”
Meanwhile, AccessKenya Group Retail Manager Diana Mulili indicated that the Group has embarked on an aggressive national expansion plan to cover areas win which uptake of the connectivity and data services is high.
“We will in the next couple of weeks launch another office to cater for our existing clients in the greater Rift Valley region as well us enhance our reach,” Ms Mulili said.
She maintained that majority of staff to be deployed in the regional office will mainly be technical and sales representatives so as to provide first hand service to all clients as well as educate potential ones on the various products from the company.
“Excellent customer service is a key differentiator in this business and the swifter we solve our customers’ problems, the dearer we become and this has played a big role in growing our business,” she explained.
AccessKenya is currently the leading Corporate ISP with a 42% market share in corporate connectivity and has in the recent past embarked on an ambitious network expansion.
Earlier this week, the company announced that it had connected 400 buildings on its fast-growing metropolitan fibre network in Nairobi and Mombasa.
Similarly, the company is aggressively engaging stakeholders in the building and construction industry to deploy its connectivity solution dubbed Fibre to the Premise (FTTP) in what has been termed as a revolutionary approach to fibre connectivity.
