Transport minister to be tried by three judges

Eng. Michael Kamau (pictured above), the Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary, has suffered a blow after the High Court rejected his appeal to stop criminal proceedings against him.

Justice Mumbi Ngugi has directed that the case against Mr Kamau, who was suspended by President Uhuru Kenyatta, will proceed and forwarded his file to Chief Justice Willy Mutunga to constitute a three-judge bench to determine his fate, Tuko reports.

Mr Kamau had told the court that his trial is unprocedural because the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission that investigated him was not well-constituted after its commissioners resigned, but was overuled by Justice Ngugi.
