An activist based in Samburu is going to court to sue Samburu North MP Alois Lentoimaga over threats he received from the legislator and has since recorded a statement at central police station in Nairobi.

Skamo Loltianya, a controversial and self-proclaimed crusader, has been critical of Lentoimaga on social media for a long time over questions raised by the Auditor General’s report on the “misuse” of CDF funds in Samburu North. The activist, a Certified Public Accountant, laments that a total of Ksh 196,361,525 might have been lost in the three years audit of funds in the semi arid constituency.

Loltianya said he received death threats from the MP and he was recently arrested by DCI detectives attached to Parliament police station all the way from his Mombasa office and brought to Nairobi and detained for over 24 hrs a process that did not end up in court.

“Justice must prevail. I have evidence on the misuses of funds in Samburu North. All hard information is available in the audit report. My only crime was to share the same on Facebook. But first I will sue him for detaining me for 24 hrs,” he said.

Samburu North is among 13 constituencies adversely mentioned by the Auditor General Edward Ouko in his reports for questionable expenditure of huge sums of money raising eye brows on miss use of CDF funds.

On his side, Lentoimaga accused the activist of defaming him on social media and even writing on his private life and that of his family.

The outspoken activist has also been running a series of articles and posts on social media based of audit reports, especially Facebook, since 2014 accusing Samburu County Government of looting money meant for development.

Recently, the Samburu county senior officials including Governor Moses Lenolkulal were arrested and appeared in court to answer to charges on conflict of interests and shoddy procurement process that allegedly led to the loss of Ksh 2 billion.
