FEATURED STORY

Oh my, Raila has got a smiling shoe!

Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga is a man of style. His suits or casual wear is deliberately chosen to match the occasion. Even his shoes, and the occasional cap/hat, is a study in the art of style.

So when he stepped forward to address the gathering at St John’s Everlasting Gospel Church in Imara Daima, Nairobi on Sunday, the CORD leader Raila Odinga was in his element. He was in jovial mood and stood out in a well-pressed dark suit and a marching tie.

But – wait a minute – something was amiss. Baba’s left shoe was yawning or as children would say later, ‘laughing’, looking almost like a dehydraded fish. The Standard online reports that the brown shoe was clearly torn but what was not apparently clear was whether he was aware of the infraction.

Like the late Cabinet Minister John Michuki who was photographed in torn socks, the minor infraction did not dampen RAO’s spirits. He gave a strong speech, nonetheless, asking the Government to carry out prosecutions over ‘Chicken gate’ scandal.
