Former NTV presenter Lizz Ntonjira lands top communications job at Red Cross

Former NTV anchor Elizabeth Ntonjira has been appointed Senior Manager, Communications at the Kenya Red Cross Society.

Prior to her appointment, she was the Communications Manager at IBM. Previously, Lizz, as she is known to her friends, was the External Relations Leader for East Africa at the US technology giant.

She has also worked at an NGO as a  Communications, Campaigns and Outreach Manager for an NGO as well as at a USAID funded project where she implemented networking and communications strategies to facilitate policy development and learning in the East and Southern Africa region.

She is a recipient of former US President Barack Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowship for young African Leaders in 2015. Ntonjira was also recognized as the Best TV reporter on Gender and Development by the United Nations Population Awards of 2012. She first joined the media as a reporter at K24.

Lizz holds a Bachelor Degree in Law from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from Strathmore Business School. She is also a Public Policy Management Fellow from Virginia Commonwealth University in Virginia, USA, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK).
