In December 2003, what was not known that it would become one of Kenya’s finest coaching fleets was started in Nairobi, where its main office sits to this day. They called it Easy Coach, and the duty was to undertake public transport activities at least to and from one route, Nairobi to Kisumu, which it only plied before adding Kakamega when demand for its affordable, reliable, and eco-friendly bus services rose.
From its humble beginnings when it began operations with only 11 buses and 50 workers, the bus company has steadily grown throughout the years to be among the few national operators of scheduled intercity coaches in the country, directly employing nearly a thousand people.
“We have almost 900 people working for us,” Easy Coach owner Azym Dossa,76, was quoted when he talked to BD Africa in August 2023, a few months before his company turned 20.

He said his business became successful and expanded rapidly to serve over 100+ top destinations in Kenya with over 50 buses, thanks to the passengers who have continued to prefer it because of the continuous improvements it makes to its fleet, pocket-friendly fares, and harmonious relationships between transit operators and travellers.
Easy Coach’s position is that it is open to innovation and is keen to embrace technologies that complement its vast transport network for convenience. For this, passengers can book its buses online and pay their fares directly using Mpesa;
