A magistrate court has, for the second time, issued a warrant of arrest against media personality Jeff Koinange for failing to appear in court.

The magistrate yesterday forfeited Ksh100,000 cash bail issued to him last week by an Acting Senior Principal Magistrate Linus Kassan after he was arrested and arraigned in court.

Nairobi Senior Resident Magistrate Maisy Chesang has also directed that Koinange be arrested and arraigned in court. Mr Koinange, who presents the JK Live talk show on KTN, is facing charges of contempt alongside analyst Tony Gachoka for failing to appear in court.

The two are also accused of discussing businessman Jimi Wanjigi, Sani Mbui Wanjigi and Kwacha Group of Companies Limited during Mr Koinange’s ‘Jeff Koinange Live’ show that airs on a local TV station, despite a court order barring the discussion.

Koinange and Gachoka had failed in their bid to prevent their arrest for allegedly disobeying a court order.
