Turnover for the four-day trading week stood at Ksh2.89bn from the previous week Ksh5.99bn. The number of shares traded stood at 85M against 203M posted the previous week. The NSE 20 Share Index shed 2.67 points during the week to stand at 4,784.07. All Share Index (NASI) was up 1.02% during the week to settle at 163.78 points.
Manufacturing & Allied Sector was one of the active counters, moving 6.5M shares, which represented 7.62% of the week’s traded volume. Mumias Sugar saw 4.3M shares changing hands at between Ksh1.95 and Ksh2.05.
The highlight was East African Breweries, which was up 5% to Ksh315.00 for the 1.5M shares traded, as investors placed more bets on the counter.

Plantations accounted for 0.05% of the week’s traded volume. Sasini ended the week at Ksh15.95 on a volume of 32,000 shares.
Banking Sector had 25M shares traded which represented 29.45% of the week’s traded volume. Equity Bank touched a high of Kes.48.00 and low of Ksh47.00 on a volume of 10M shares. KCB up 4.42% to Ksh59.00 moved 5M shares.
Construction & Allied Sector moved 2.2M shares, which accounted for 2.67% of the week’s traded volume. ARM Cement unchanged at Ksh73.00 moved 2M shares. Crown Paints closed the week 1.86% higher to Kes.164.00 on a volume of 7,000 shares.
Energy & Petroleum Sector moved 5.8M shares, which accounted for 6.87% of the week’s traded volume. KenolKobil actively moved 4.1M shares at between Ksh7.90 and Ksh8.60. KenGen down 1.09% to Ksh9.05 moved 1.2M shares. Safaricom moved 36M shares and closed the week at Ksh16.35.
