City shopper wins car in Uchumi promotion

Anthony Lang’at is the winner of a Nissan Almera from Uchumi supermarkets in the just concluded Toboa Maisha na Uchumi Promotion.

Lang’at was announced the winner on Friday when the final draw of the campaign was made. The promotion, started in November last year, has been termed ‘successful’ by Uchumi CEO Jonathan Ciano.

“This has been a successful activity, as our objective that aimed at the participation of our suppliers and customers has been achieved. We have been doing this for the last seven years. I would wish to congratulate the winners and thank all the participants,” noted Mr Ciano.

On his part, Mr Lang’at said: “I was at work around 11 am when Ann from Uchumi called me informing me that I was the grand winner.”

‘Toboa Maisha na Uchumi’ promotion aimed at attracting shoppers to Uchumi supermarkets, involved thousands. Among other participants who didn’t go home empty-handed were Jemima Asiko, who pocketed Ksh500, 000 and Veronica Wairimu Ksh250, 000.

Others were awarded cash prizes that ranged between Ksh50 to Ksh100, shopping vouchers, school fees, and electronic goods.
