Centum Investment Group Plc has announced the appointment of Ms. Risper Alaro as the Group Finance Director effective March 15, 2022.
She takes over from Mr. Wambua Kimeu who, according to the NSE-listed firm, resigned to pursue other interests. Kimeu held the role of Group Finance Director and a Partner in Centum Capital Partners Ltd – a Centum subsidiary.
Kimeu is expected to leave Centum at the end of May 2022. He will work with Alaro to ensure a seamless transition.
The appointment marks Alaro’s return to Centum where she worked in different roles for 18 years. She took a sabbatical leave in mid-2018.
Alaro served as Centum’s Finance and Operations Director and later established Centum Business Solutions Ltd, serving as its first Managing Director. At Centum Business Solutions she led provision of shared business services including finance, tax, human resource management, technology, marketing and legal to Centum and its subsidiaries.
Centum Business Solutions was shut down in 2021 and staff sent home. The move followed the devolution of its functions to Centum subsidiaries, intended to save up to Ksh150 million in costs.
