Leading Pan-African online and mobile payments solution provider, 3G Direct Pay Ltd, has unveiled a new mobile application that enables merchants to launch their card and mobile transactions on their mobile phones.

The mSWIPE+ mobile app enables merchants to process payments through their mobile phone together with a mobile Point of Sale  (card reader) that is EMV compliant (pin & chip), in a process known as QuickPay. Alternatively, they can generate a link that is sent to the client to complete the transaction. The application supports all debit, prepaid and credit cards, as well as all mobile money networks in Africa.

The Managing Director of 3G Direct Pay Group, Eran Feinstein, said the new application is meant to not only enhance convenience for merchants and their customers by giving them the freedom to launch transactions anywhere, but also enhance the development of the card payments and the e-commerce.

“The mobile phone is at the centre of many people’s lives,” he said.

“This app facilitates payments to be made through this growing platform. The mSWIPE+ is an easy, fast and secure app providing the end customer with the freedom to use any card type, mobile money and to pay instantly.”

The mSWIPE+ Android app, which can only be used by merchants who have signed up to the 3G Direct Pay network, is available for download on the Google Play Store. The development of the IOS version of the app is ongoing. The application generates confirmation of the transaction real-time.

The chip and pin card reader that mSwipe+ uses a secure card payment, has chip encryption, requires PIN identification and transaction liability is with the issuer. The app is also PCI DSS secure.
