Odinga Family commemorates Fidel in moving 4th anniversary message

Fidel Castro Odinga, the son of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga was described as a loving son, a protective brother, a doting father and a loyal friend as the Odinga Family marked the 4th anniversary since the death of its son of on Friday.

Ida Odinga, Fidel’s mother together with other family members, among them former Kisumu deputy governor Ruth Odinga, took to social media in memoriam of Fidel who breathed his last on January 4, 2015 at the age of 42.

Members of one of the most influential families in Kenya’s politics poured their emotions in commemoration of Fidel, one of the most likeable sons of an influential family.

“Today is painful once more because it is a reminder that life is sometimes rough and although we were blessed with years with you our time together will never be enough,”

“For you were someone thought so highly of and we will always remember you with affection, warmth and love,” read a memorial card posted by Ida Odinga on twitter.

Fidel who was born in 1973 was found dead in his house in Karen, Nairobi on January 4, 2015 after a night out with friends.

He was father to one child sired with his Eritrean wife Lwam Bekele.

Fidel was brother to Rosemary, Winnie and Raila Juniour.
