The Nairobi Securities Exchange opened the week with a total of 27M shares valued at Ksh560M, up from Ksh272M on a volume of 12M shares posted last Friday. The NSE 20 Share Index shed 22.63 points to stand at 4,761.44, while the All Share Index (NASI) shed 1.25 points to stand at 162.53.

Automobiles & accessories sector accounted for 0.04% of the day’s traded volume.
Sameer Africa was up five cents to Kes.5.20 moved 11,000 shares. The Banking Sector had 3M shares traded and represented 11.46% of the day’s traded volume. Equity Bank touched a high of Ksh47.75 and a low of Ksh47.00 on a volume of 1.7M shares. KCB ended fifty cents lower at Ksh58.50 on a volume of 691,000 shares. Diamond Trust moved 40,000 shares and closed at Kes.226.00.
Commercial & Services Sector accounted for 2.11% of the day’s traded volume. Kenya Airways moved 439,000 shares at between Ksh6.80 and Ksh7.40. Uchumi Supermarkets unchanged at Ksh10.55 moved 22,000 shares.
Energy & Petroleum Sector moved 3.6M shares, which accounted for 13.30% of the day’s traded volume. KenolKobil actively moved 2M shares at between Kes.8.20 and Ksh8.55. Kenya Power moved 1.3M shares and closed at an improved price of Ksh17.25.

The Nairobi Securities Exchange competitively moved 7M shares at between Ksh20.25 and Ksh21.50. Manufacturing & Allied Sector moved 1.2M shares, which represented 4.44% of the day’s traded volume. Down two shillings to Ksh313.00, East Africa Breweries moved 14,000 shares. Mumias Sugar moved 1M shares at a stable price of Ksh1.95.
Safaricom declined to Ksh16.10 on a volume of 11M shares, down from Ksh16.35 posted the previous session.
