Joint Select Committee members on Monday threw out Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials after MPs declared their report on the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) substandard.
The anti-graft team was led by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman Philip Kinisu but MPs said the report lacked specific information on mentioned commissioners.
MPs accused the EACC officials of making unsubstantiated allegations against individuals without justification. Their report had initially sparked interest from the MPs, with some apparently wary of it.
However, the MPs ended up unanimously agreeing that the EACC presentation was shoddy.
Lawmakers questioned the practice of ordering public officials to step aside based on incomplete investigations, saying the process was prone to interference by crooks who used it to fix opponents.
This was the second time the report was being rejected, after the officials were told to do a better job last Thursday.
