The Public Service Commission (PSC) on Tuesday, March 7th announced vacancies for Information Communication Technology (ICT) officers. A total of 34 roles are open in the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy.
There is 1 vacancy for Secretary, ICT, 5 for Deputy Director, ICT and 28 for Assistant Director, ICT.
To apply, one is also required to make an online application on the commission’s website publicservice.go.ke or psckjobs.go.ke. Applications should reach the commission before 27th March 2023, at 5 pm.
Asserting that it was an equal opportunity employer, the PSC urged people with disabilities, the marginalized and minorities to apply.
The recruitment comes even as the ICT ministry led by Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo steers a number of programs central to the Kenya Kwanza administration’s plans.
The government for instance has embarked on a program to digitize over 200 government services.
The ministry of ICT is also a key cog in the development of the Hustler Fund loan scheme, which is looking to roll out new products for SMEs and special interest groups. The Hustler Fund has been issuing loans to individuals through a partnership with telcos and banks.

The ministry is also expected to distribute 23,000 virtual desktop devices to technical and vocational education and training (TVET institutions all over the country.
Owalo has also previously stated that the ministry is committed to creating new jobs in the digital economy and supporting development of talent incubators to nurture growth. He further stated that the ministry would help build infrastructure for the youth to bring their ideas to the marketplace, and commercialize innovative solutions.
“To support job creation in other sectors, we are going to deploy ICT to value addition entities and processes in fields like agriculture, manufacturing, transport and communication, commerce, and a wide range of other spheres,” he stated.
