Tatu City has announced the addition of a new high-density residential development to its project. Construction by developer Lifestyle Properties is set to begin in November 2016, with 1,200 units on 30 acres and prices starting from Ksh6 million.

The development is expected to house over 4,500 residents upon completion.  “Lifestyle Properties is delighted to be a part of the Live, Work, and Play vision that Tatu City represents,” said Peter Karoki, Director, Lifestyle Properties.

“This development will cater to a broad, underserved spectrum of the market that requires good quality homes at an affordable price.”

Nick Langford, Kenya Country Head for Rendeavour, Tatu City’s majority owner, said the residential properties at Tatu City were expanding. TatuCity has set aside 256 acres of residential land which will cater to more than 100,000 residents. Tatu City’s first residential phase, Kijani Ridge, is 65% sold.

Tatu City has also established the 420-acre Tatu Industrial Park, which will be home to Unilever, Dormans, Kim-Fay and Maxam, among other leading Kenyan and multinational companies. Lifestyle Properties has a wide experience in developing housing especially in the middle income bracket in Kenya. It is a key player in estate development in Nairobi and its environs with major developments under its belt.

Lifestyle is the developer of the Lifestyle Gardens along Mombasa Road in Syokimau, Machakos County, which boasts of a 70-unit estate of four (4) bedroom town houses. Another development is a mixed dwelling estate comprising 280 units of two and three bedrooms in the same locality.

Tatu City is a 2,500-acre, mixed-use and mixed-income development with residential, commercial, industrial, tourism, social and recreation amenities for more than 100,000 residents and 30,000 day visitors.

Underlying Tatu City’s design is a concept aiming to shift urban development in Kenya from the familiar single node model to a decentralized urban environment. By doing so, Tatu will significantly de-congest the City of Nairobi by offering a unique live, work and play environment.
